I. General Installation Procedure (Applicable to All Three Brands)
Preparation Work
Tools: Socket wrench set, torque wrench, jack, safety stands, special tools for clutch release bearing installation (e.g., Nissan ZZA0515D), and high-temperature resistant, wear-resistant grease.
Vehicle: Park the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake. Lift the front of the vehicle with a jack and secure it firmly with safety stands. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
Parts Inspection: Verify that the new clutch release bearing is free from damage, rotates smoothly without sticking or jamming, and matches the model specifications of the vehicle.
Disassembly of Related Components
Transmission Removal: Disconnect the clutch hydraulic line/cable, drive shaft, and transmission mounting bolts. Support the transmission with a transmission jack, then retract and remove it slowly to avoid collision damage to the input shaft.
Old Bearing Removal: Separate the release fork from the old bearing, remove the circlip/fixing clip, and slide the old bearing off the guide sleeve. Clean the guide sleeve, splines of the input shaft, and contact surfaces of the release fork thoroughly.
Installation of the New Clutch Release Bearing
Lubrication: Apply a thin layer of specified grease to the surface of the guide sleeve to prevent excessive grease from contaminating the clutch disc. Apply an appropriate amount of grease to the pivot points of the release fork and the contact surfaces between the fork and the bearing as well.
Bearing Installation: Slide the bearing onto the guide sleeve according to the marked orientation (for Lada vehicles, ensure the protruding end of the inner ring faces away from the guide sleeve). Install the circlip/fixing clip, and make sure the bearing fits parallel to the fingers of the diaphragm spring.
Release Fork Reset: Engage the release fork with the bearing correctly. For mechanical systems, adjust the fork position to ensure smooth movement. For hydraulic systems, check that the sealing rings are intact, then tighten the connector to the specified torque, generally 8–12 N·m.
Reassembly and Commissioning
Transmission Refitting: Align the input shaft with the splines of the clutch disc, then push the transmission into place slowly. Tighten the mounting bolts in a diagonal sequence and in multiple stages to the specified torque (e.g., 21 N·m for some Renault models).
Hydraulic System Bleeding: For hydraulic clutch systems, bleed air from the pipeline through the bleed valve until continuous fluid flow without air bubbles is achieved.
Function Test: Start the engine and depress the clutch pedal repeatedly. Check for smooth pedal travel, normal clutch disengagement and engagement, and absence of abnormal noise. Verify that the release clearance meets the vehicle standard, generally 2–3 mm.
II. Brand-Specific Key Points
| Brand | Fastening Method | Key Torque | Special Precautions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nissan | Mostly circlip plus release fork positioning | Transmission bolts tightened per vehicle manual (special tools required for bearing installation on models such as Caravan E25) | Use a diaphragm adjusting wrench (ZZA0838D) to calibrate the flatness of the diaphragm spring |
| Lada | Spring retaining clip plus release fork engagement | Release fork fixing bolt: approximately 9 N·m | The protruding end of the inner ring must face away from the release sleeve. Check that the spring retaining clip is securely fastened after installation |
| Renault | Bolted fastening on some models | Clutch release bearing mounting bolt: 21 N·m | Lubrication of the clutch shaft is prohibited to prevent damage to the slave cylinder. Bleed the hydraulic system before refitting the transmission |
I. Precautions for Pre-Construction Safety and Preparation
Priority on Safe Operation
Parts Verification and Inspection
Compliance of Tools and Consumables
II. Precautions for Disassembly and Cleaning Stages
Standard Disassembly to Avoid Secondary Damage
Thorough Cleaning to Eliminate Impurities
Differentiate Hydraulic and Mechanical Structures for Proper Protection
