3. Lubrication: Apply a small amount of engine oil to the spline of the one-way clutch, drive end bushing and sliding surface of the armature shaft to avoid dry friction.

2. Pre-install 2 (or 3) fixing bolts (M12/M14, subject to model), tighten them in place by hand without pre-tightening. Confirm the mounting holes are fully aligned without interference.

1. Terminal B (main power supply, thick wire, 50mm²): Connect to the positive cable of the battery, tightening torque is 7.35-9.8N·m, fit with an insulating sleeve, strictly prohibited to short circuit to the ground.

2. Terminal S (control signal wire, thin wire, 2.5mm²): Connect to the start gear of the starting relay/ignition switch, insert it to the end to ensure good contact without poor connection.

3. Ground terminal: Tighten the ground bolt of the starter housing to 25-30N·m to ensure reliable grounding (poor grounding of 24V system is prone to weak starting).

I. Safety and Pre-treatment Precautions Before Installation

1. Thorough power-off operation: For the 24V dual-battery system, disconnect the negative terminal first and then the positive terminal; connect the positive terminal first and then the negative terminal after installation. Keep away from open fire throughout the process to prevent battery short circuit and deflagration.

2. Thorough cleaning: Oil stains, rust and metal debris must be removed from the mounting surface of the flywheel housing and the fitting surface of the starter, with the fitting surface gap ≤ 0.1mm. Otherwise, it is easy to cause vibration, abnormal noise and bolt loosening.

3. Strict matching of accessories and models: It is strictly forbidden to replace the 6BT 24V 6.5KW original part (OE No. 4984042/C4983068) with a 12V/5.5KW starter. In addition, the fixing bolts and flat washers must be original high-strength parts, and ordinary bolts are prohibited as substitutes.

4. Precise lubrication without taboos: Apply a small amount of engine oil only to the spline of the one-way clutch, the sliding surface of the armature shaft and the drive end bushing. It is strictly forbidden to apply oil/grease to the electromagnetic switch, wiring terminals, carbon brush holder and commutator to avoid poor contact and ablation.

5. Mandatory pre-check of clearance: The axial clearance between the drive gear and the flywheel ring gear is 3-5mm. Manually push the gear to extend and retract smoothly without jamming or deflection, and the ring gear shall be free of broken teeth and burrs; otherwise, it will directly lead to gear chipping after installation.

II. Operational Precautions During Installation

1. No forced installation or hammering for positioning: Align the starter with the flywheel ring gear and push it in smoothly. If the mounting holes are not fully aligned, it is strictly forbidden to tighten the bolts forcibly or strike the housing/gear with a hammer to prevent gear chipping, housing cracking and flywheel housing deformation.

2. Strictly follow the "diagonal and staged" principle for bolt tightening: Tighten M12 bolts in 2 stages (first to 50% torque → then to 85-95N·m), and tighten M14 bolts first to 50% torque → then to 120-130N·m. It is forbidden to tighten a single bolt to the full torque at one time to avoid housing cracking due to uneven stress and bolt stretch failure.

3. No loosening after installation: Shake the starter housing after tightening to ensure no looseness, no thread slipping of bolts, consistent exposed length of bolts, and no warping of the fitting surface.
