Pre-installation Inspection

• Verify model: 12V, 3.7KW, 11 teeth, ensure compatibility with Quanchai N485/4B1 engines.

• Inspect the flywheel ring gear for wear, missing teeth, or burrs to avoid damage to the new starter gear.

Electrical Safety

• Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery before installation to prevent short circuits, sparks, electric shock or burnout.

• Power cables and ground wires must be securely fastened; terminals must be clean, free of oil and oxidation.

• Reverse polarity is strictly prohibited, as it will immediately burn out the starter solenoid and coil.

Installation & Meshing Clearance

• Ensure the mating surface between the starter and engine is flat and even; tighten bolts uniformly to avoid misalignment.

• Confirm smooth meshing between drive gear and flywheel, no jamming, gear clash or abnormal noise.

• Do not forcibly pry the gear, as this may damage the overrunning clutch.

Operating Rules

• Each starting operation shall not exceed 5 seconds; allow 10–15 seconds interval between consecutive starts.

• If the engine fails to start after 3 consecutive attempts, inspect the fuel system, electrical circuit and battery. Do not crank for an extended period.

• Release the ignition switch immediately after the engine starts to avoid starter idle running and gear clash.

Routine Maintenance

• Keep the starter dry and clean; avoid water, oil or dust ingress.

• Regularly check wiring harnesses, grounding points and mounting bolts to prevent looseness, overheating or burning.

• Stop the engine immediately if abnormal noise, weak cranking, smoke or slipping occurs.

Warranty & Prohibitions

• Disassembly, modification, or grinding of coils and internal components without authorization is strictly prohibited, otherwise the warranty will be void.

• Damage caused by improper model matching, physical impact, short circuit or water immersion is not covered under the standard warranty.
