1. Pre-installation Preparation
Safety and Tools
Necessary tools: Socket wrench (14-19mm common), torque wrench, Phillips/flathead screwdriver, brush, sandpaper, copper or plastic scraper, insulating tape.
Safety measures: Disconnect the negative cable of the vehicle's 24V battery to prevent short circuit; turn off the ignition switch and remove the key.
Component Inspection
Verify the starter motor model (e.g., QDJ2503, part numbers 1197763, 300516-00015, etc.), number of teeth (11T/13T), power 6.0KW, voltage 24V to ensure matching with the engine flywheel ring gear.
Check that the starter motor has no cracks on the appearance, the solenoid switch operates smoothly, the overrunning clutch has no jamming, and the brushes are in good contact with the commutator.
Removal and Cleaning of Old Parts
Mark the positions of the power cable and control cable of the old starter motor; remove the fixing bolts (usually 2-3 pieces) and take off the old starter motor.
Clean oil stains, rust and residual old gaskets on the engine mounting surface (flywheel housing) to ensure flat fitting.
2. Installation Steps (Whole machine installation as an example)
Positioning and Fixing
Align the new starter motor with the mounting holes of the flywheel housing to ensure the drive gear is parallel to the meshing surface of the flywheel ring gear without offset.
Install a new lock washer, insert the fixing bolts, pre-tighten diagonally and crosswise (to avoid housing deformation), then tighten to the specified torque with a torque wrench (common torque for Daewoo construction machinery: M12 bolts about 45-55N·m, M14 bolts about 65-75N·m, subject to the model manual).
Electrical Connection
First connect the control cable (small terminal): Insert the plug and fasten it, or tighten the terminal nut (torque about 5-8N·m) to ensure no looseness.
Then connect the main power cable (large terminal): Put on the copper lug, tighten the nut with a torque wrench (about 18-22N·m), apply conductive paste if necessary, and finally wrap the exposed part with insulating tape.
Reset and Inspection
Refit all guard plates and dust covers to ensure no interference.
Reconnect the negative cable of the battery and check that all circuits are free from extrusion and wear.
3. Post-installation Testing
No-load test: Turn on the power, press the start switch briefly, observe that the starter motor runs smoothly without abnormal noise, and the drive gear pops out and retracts quickly.
Load test: Start the engine, confirm that the starter motor can drive the flywheel to run normally without slipping or abnormal noise; start continuously for 2-3 times and check that the starter motor and circuits have no overheating.
Clearance inspection: If the starter motor is equipped with adjusting gaskets, ensure the end clearance between the drive gear and the flywheel ring gear is 1-4mm; replace the gaskets to adjust if the clearance is improper.

2. Content Integration Sources (Supplementary Explanation)
Technical Data Integration
Integrated the manufacturer's installation instructions for common models of Daewoo starter motors (e.g., QDJ2503), as well as general precautions for starter motor disassembly and assembly released by the automotive maintenance industry (such as Autohome, PCauto) (e.g., power-off operation, wiring sequence, clearance adjustment, etc.).
Torque parameters refer to the universal standards for bolt tightening in construction machinery (torque range for M12/M14 bolts), revised in combination with maintenance experience of Daewoo models.
Extraction from Practical Experience
Some details (such as diagonal pre-tightening to prevent deformation, lubrication of overrunning clutch, precautions for low-temperature installation) are derived from frontline maintenance practical experience and comply with industry maintenance specifications.
